Metis “Marches into Literacy” with Book Project for Summit County Children’s Services!

Metis Construction initiated a “March into Literacy” Project to benefit Summit County Children Services. Metis Construction believes that literacy is a fundamental building block to success. Just like Olympic skiers need to be surrounded by snow to be successful skiers, children need to be surrounded by books to be successful readers, students and future community leaders. Through the “March into Literacy” Project over 490 children will receive brand new books with their Easter baskets this year.
In order to provide these new books, Metis Construction, partnered with Usborne Books & More, a children’s book publisher that offered a 50% matching grant. The project collected donations from fellow business owners and individuals interested in supporting the children of our community.
Thank you to the following businesses for their support: JP Cabinets, Ohio Benefits & Insurance Group, Ron Maghes Insurance Group, JD Williamson Construction, KMC License Services – Fairlawn BMV, Besso Clinic Chiropractic, Kent Elastomer Products Inc., and Peak Physical Medicine. Special thanks also to Rich Bedell, Mark Ferguson, JT Stimler, Judy Zeitler, Wendy Eldridge, Elizabeth Eaken, Andrea Denton, Annette & Bob Oborn, Jeffery Meyers, Susan Summerville, and Phil Lopez for their generous individual gifts.
